Kolkata, a city steeped in history, culture, and innovation, is one of India’s most dynamic urban centers. However, it faces complex challenges in various domains such as transportation, public spaces, healthcare, and employment.
Sandbox CCU is a one-week immersive challenge that brings together participants to collaboratively reimagine Kolkata’s future. Using Human-Centered Design, Systems Thinking, and emerging STEM skills, they will develop innovative, sustainable, and inclusive solutions for the city.

Challenge Outline
Sandbox CCU is a mandatory challenge for undergraduate students from STEM, business, design and humanities backgrounds enrolled at the School of the Future.
Sandbox CCU is a one-week design sprint focused on hands-on learning, research, rapid prototyping, and iteration. Participants will collaborate, think critically, and present impactful solutions—immersed in a dynamic mix of creativity, energizing breaks and interactive discussions!
